Domaine Faiveley is one of the biggest domaines in Burgundy and many would argue one of the best. This illustrious domaine has been based in Nuits-Saint-Georges since the days of Pierre Faiveley who founded the Domaine in 1825. Corton Clos des Corton Faiveley is their flagship monopole vineyard, producing wines which are full-bodied, concentrated, elegant and offers excellent potential for bottle ageing.
Domaine Ponsot as a prestigious and iconoclastic estate in Burgundy, it was founded in 1872 in Morey-Saint-Denis. It manages its vineyards and wineries differently to other producers in Burgundy. There are no sorting tables – bunch management is done in the vineyard. The wines go through uncontrolled ferments, and are not filtered or fined. Domaine Ponsot was best known for its grand cru Burgundies, in particular its Clos de la Roche. Clos de la Roche is considered as one of Morey-Saint-Denis' best climats, and makes plump, structured wines with characteristics of cherry and truffle.
The Morey family is one of the most well-known wine producers in the Côte de Beaune. The family name can be traced back for more than five generations in the villages of Chassagne and Meursault, and today great wines are produced by Morey family members including Jean-Marc Morey. Domaine Jean-Marc Morey wines are classic in style and supremely terroir driven with perfect balanced, rich texture, displays honeysuckle and orange blossom aromas. |

2013 Domaine Faiveley, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru les Fuees
AM91-94 |
HKD $1,140.00 |
"This is the most aromatically complex of these 4 Chambolle 1ers if not the most elegant with its beautifully layered nose of cassis, plum, exotic tea and sandalwood scents. There is plenty of that beguiling sense of underlying tension to the intensely mineral-driven flavors that display excellent delineation on the concentrated and balanced finish. Note well though that this hugely long and mildly austere effort is quite firmly structured and will require patience before it´s ready for prime time drinking."

2010 Domaine Faiveley, Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru (Monopole)
AM94-96 |
HKD $1,900.00 |
"A brooding, deep and introverted nose grudgingly gives up notes of cassis, earth, wood and a hint of animale. The intense, brawny and imposingly structured flavors possess superb volume and almost breathtaking power on the explosive and mouth coating finish that is of monumental proportions. This is a classic Corton yet consistent with the style of the 2010 vintage, this is not unduly rustic, indeed the tannins, while firm, are actually relatively refined. A knock out by any standard but at the same time, a wine for the genuinely patient." - Allen Meadow |

2010 Domaine Ponsot, Clos de la Roche Cuvee Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru
AM95-97 |
HKD $4,750.00 |
"In stark contrast to the expressiveness of the Clos St. Denis, this is almost mute and even aggressive swirling liberates only the briefest glimpses of wild red berries and earth notes. There is superb size and weight to the imposing and overtly muscular flavors that also enjoy an incredible amount of dry extract that confers a supple and seductively textured mouth feel to the highly concentrated mid-palate. The presently buried tannins are intense and markedly firm though not hard on the explosively long finish that seems to go on and on. This should be something very special if given sufficient time to reach its apogee."

2010 Domaine Ponsot, Morey-Saint-Denis Cuvee des Alouettes 1er Cru
AM90-93 |
HKD $1,140.00 |
"Strong reduction again precludes a satisfactory examination of the aromas. By contrast to the funky nose there is excellent verve and freshness to the concentrated, detailed and quite impressively pure and transparent flavors that terminate in a mouth coating and persistent finish. Interestingly the tannins here are almost as fine-grained as those of the Chambolle "Charmes"."

2013 Domaine Jean-Marc Morey, Chassagne-Montrachet Village
AM89 |
HKD $475.00 |
"Here there are no such sulfur problems as the expressive nose offers up notes of petrol, citrus, pear and a hint of resin. There is also fine delineation and punch to the delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent depth and length for a villages level wine. Recommended plus it should reward 4 to 6 years of bottle age." - Allen Meadow |

2010 Domaine Jean-Marc Morey, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru les Caillerets
AM93 |
HKD $665.00 |
"A classic Caillerets nose of mineral reduction, pear, lime and floral notes gives way to strikingly intense, detailed and driving medium weight flavors that sit atop a firm base of stone while displays ample amounts of underlying tension. There is good power and the moderately firm acid spine both shapes and supports the explosively long and moderately austere finish. This should be terrific."
